1969 Mustang Mach 1
A History lesson

The Mach 1 started life in super rough shape.  Click on the "See what we started with" to see just how rough it was.   This is actually Mach 1 number 2, Forest original Mach 1 had the misfortune to be in a traffic accident and it was totaled.
This came into Forest life in 1985 and was a work in progress.  In 1990 Forest brought the mustang to Jeff's house to start work on the drive train.  While at Jeff's house, Jeff sons, then ages 5 and 7, decided to do "carrier landings" on the hood (jumping from the roof to the hood) and just rippled the roof line.   Thus the attention turned to body work.
From 1990 - 1992 the car underwent a full gutted restoration.   All new floor pans, tail light panel, lower quarter panels, passenger side door pillar, and suspension. You name it and it was repaired or replaced.  To give you an idea of how detail was put in to the car, 3 months was spent setting the panel alignment and gaps to original spacing.  We actually contacted Ford SVO to get the dimensions for the pinstripe corners on the hood.  We received an onion skin template reproduced from the orginal blueprint paint scheme design from Ford and went to work.

The pictures on the left below is just weeks out of the paint booth. The pictures on the right is 12 years later.
